A traditional two storey weatherboard home was designed for this young family by Fineline Building Design and passed on to me to put together the complete interior fit-out, including joinery design and later, furnishing and decorating. The brief was for a clean and quite modern interior but remaining sympathetic to the traditional features ie window seats, high ceilings and exterior style. I achieved this by using panel cupboard doors and drawers on most of the joinery but finishing it with contemporary colours. Rustic wide plank engineered timber floorboards provided warmth and character. Fabrics for most of the soft furnishings were chosen in gentle blues, greys and whites including the custom seat cushions for the window seats.
