My clients brief was to create an elegant club style come tv and entertainment room in the new modern extension to their traditional home. A large underground pool window with a deep reveal was a feature and needed some finishing off. My immediate thoughts were to have a transitional feeling with a touch of drama as you descend down the stairs and into the den. It took some convincing of the clients to paint the walls, ceiling, ensuite door and architraves all in a dark charcoal colour however it was an essential element in creating the cosy ambiance of the space and it also coordinated nicely with the feature wallpaper. Dark timber slats were used on the bar bulkhead, pool window surround and hidden entrance door. Opulent finishes were used on the bar including a stunning marble called ‘Ice Green’ for the splashback. This brought in the light and the furnishings were co-ordinated to it.
